Organ Meats, Breakfast
In many ancient and current cultures the liver, heart and kidneys of animals are given to the leaders of their tribes because of the value placed on the meats. The vitamin and health benefits of beef liver are many. Promotes bone health, brain function, helps with fertility and its high in protein and low in fat. Children should limit liver intake to 1-2 x/ week (WebMD), and don’t go overboard with intake because of the very high vitamin A concentration, but, like anything else, a moderate amount can be very beneficial.
I try to have an once or two with my breakfast 5-7 days/week.
I prepare the liver, and heart, kidneys if I can find them by slicing into 1-2” pieces. I add some Redmond Salt, Apple Cider vinegar and squeeze some fresh lemon over it. Place contents in a sealable container, mix, refrigerate, and that’s it.
The vinegar and lemon will tenderize the meat and I know I’m getting one of natures true superfoods in my meal.
As previously stated all of my ingredients are grass fed grass finished and or organically grown.
Typical Breakfast
2 duck eggs(Pure Pastures and some specialty food shops) + 2 organic brown eggs- crack and scramble in a bowl.
Use a SS fry pan, add tallow(1/2-3/4 oz.) and1 strip of bacon.
Allow bacon to get nice a crispy and then I’ll add 3-4oz. of ground beef, add salt (Redmond) and 1-2 of my marinated organ meat.
Allow contents to cook till pink is gone in beef and add the eggs-cover and in a few minutes the beautiful fluffy High protein, High Fat- packed full of vitamins and nutrients Omelet is ready to plate.
Coffee -Black Rifle (organic and owned by ex-patriots that served several deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan), add a sliver of butter and a 1/2 Tsp. of MCT ( Bulletbroof my choice).
No Carbs because it slows me down. I’m alert, energetic and ready to go. I’m good to go till dinner and will not snack or eat anything until then.
Don’t ask me about the fats, calories or any of that- I don’t worry about that-I do know how I feel and get on with my day.
