Alaska

Alaska- The true religious experience.

The plan was on- the date, travel, trails, where to stay, transportation and what to do. I’ve been taking cold showers everyday and learning how to relax so I could take the plunge in the icy waters of Alaska, so when our hiking guide recommended the place to go I was ready. We had already hiked a few challenging trails including a glacier trail. The water at our Airbnb was fed from the mountains and was very cold, so I had a “taste” of what was to come.

We just completed a trail which revved up our engines 1850 ft elevation and 3 miles up. Time for the plunge. Walk thru the muddy marshes to waters edge- relax and breath, relax and breath……. Ok time to strip down to my shorts and do it. Breath, walk till I’m submerged, temp of the water didn’t really matter at this point its the mind that takes over- another dip and time to come out- oh baby what a rush when I got out. I had an endorphin rush which I’ve never experienced before- nothing mattered but how I felt-amazing! The trails, the sights, the friendship, the amazing home cooked meals each and every day- a religious experience to be sure. God was present in each sight and touch. Definitely want to back to see the Northern lights in the spring, we’ve been told its another magical experience.

Be Bold Or Get Old- see Alaska touch and feel the Glory- can’t do that from a ship.
